
It seems every developer is out to impress the hard-to-please Steve Jobs. It turned out more than 100,000 developers have downloaded the beta iPhone SDK fit 4 days after its release. Moreover, Apple brags that more 1 million people have watched its launch video at its site.
Some of the leading iPhone SDK developers include big names in the industry such as AOL, Electronic Arts, Epocrates, salesforce.com and Sega.
Despite the big turnout, more developers have expressed their disappointment besides this a great deal of hyped mobile platform. One of the leading underground iPhone developers Jonathan “NerveGas” Zdziarski said in iPhone Atlas, “The Apple SDK, of the same kind with many be delivered of come to light upon, has arguably crippled much of the functionality that set the iPhone apart when earliest released. Even simple features like the ability to run a program in the background, have been crippled in the Apple SDK.”
