Sayonara 2G Mobile Phones

In Japan, 2G is dying and might be proclaimed dead within this year. A news article reports that out of 4.08 million handsets sent to Japanese stores in January, there was zero delivery of any 2nd generation mobile phones. And since of February, 85% of the users own 3G mobile phones.

It comes as no confuse since Japan is one of the most important countries in terms of mobile technology. But it's not the first country to kill 2G cellphones. South Korea is the first country known to be virtually free of any 2G cellphones.

But U.S. is far from this saying goodbye. Based on industry surveys, only 50% of American mobile users own 3G mobile phones. On the other management, Western Europe is really far behind with only 10% owning third-generation cellphones.
